Two things it does
Keep backup
A folder on your computer, kept safe somewhere else. Every file is encrypted before it leaves your device with a key only you hold, so what the hosts store β and what we store β is noise. Restore from any device you sign in on.
Publish public
A website, an archive, a release: put it up and it stays up. Drop a
file or a folder on your account page, or paste the CID of something
already on IPFS. Public content is addressed by its own fingerprint,
so anyone fetching it can check nothing changed. Served from our
gateway at pinthis.cloud/ipfs/β¦, to the wider IPFS
network, and β point your name at it β at
yourname.pinthis.cloud.
A free name with every payment
Every payment on a paid plan comes with a yourname.pinthis
name. It arrives as a key file; import it into Wildroot and it is your
sign-in, your address and your storage account, all one thing. Point it
at a site and the site is live at yourname.pinthis in
Wildroot and yourname.pinthis.cloud everywhere else.
(?)
The name is a record in a zone we serve β no wallet, no tokens, and
nothing for you to buy or renew. The key file is the only copy of the
key; we delete ours the moment you download it.
Plans
Flat monthly prices. Card, not coins.
Storage is what you keep; a plan's transfer allowance is what it may move in a month. Past the allowance things slow and then pause until the month turns β nothing is ever deleted for going over.
How it works
Pick a plan
Pay by card. Pick your free name on the way through, or later from your account page.
Download your key
One file, shown once. Import it in Wildroot and you are signed in β nothing to paste, no password to make up.
Back up, or publish
In Wildroot, choose a folder to keep, or publish a site and tick Keep online. Or skip the app: drop a file on your account page and it is pinned. That is the whole job.
Being straight with you
What we can see
Keep: how much you store and when you move it. Not one byte of what it is β it is sealed on your device with a key we never hold.
Publish: everything, and so can everyone else. That is what public means.
Who runs what
The storage is a network of independent hosts (Sia). We run the coordinator that finds hosts and pays them, the gateway that serves public content, and the site you are reading.
Your data lives under your app key, in the same format the official Sia app uses β it opens there too.
How you leave
Cancel from your account page; the plan drops to free at the end of the month and your name stays yours. Restore or re-publish anywhere before then. Nothing is held hostage.
